THE REBBE'S NIGGUNIM: SONGS OF THE INSPIRED SOUL (EXPLAINER VIDEO)
FAQS:
Is this program for my Chabad House?
Most probably. The range of Chabad Houses who have used this program run the gamut of small town Chabad Houses to large regional groups of Chabad Houses. It has been shown to a crowd of 50 and to crowds of 400.
Is this a standalone program?
100%. The program runs for just under an hour. Between the program itself, introductory and closing remarks, you have a full evening.
What do I need to purchase in order to use this program?
For this program you need two things. Our package, which includes the films, musical arrangements, and a personalized poster. You also need to hire a string quartet, which we recommend you find locally.
How much does it cost?
Our package costs $890. Some shluchim have found volunteers to perform for free, but the musicians usually cost between $800 - $1200 for the entire group.
What kind of music is this exactly?
The music for this program is performed by a string quartet (two violins, a viola, and a cello.) This is a very common group of musicians in the world of classical music. The arrangements were written exclusively for this program by Maestro Israel Edelson.
Besides your package and local musicians what else do I need?
Not much. Just a screen and sound system for the films. Whatever you have in your Chabad House will most probably be enough. (Unless the program is in a very large room you most probably do not need a sound system for the musicians.)
What kind of crowd will this program attract?
This program is targeted to an audience that is interested in either music, hassidic tradition, or both. Of course, those in your community who have spent time with you singing niggunim, this is a special opportunity to experience these niggunim on a whole new level.
How do you recommend I sell this program?
We recommend 'selling' it as a musical event. This is something that your crowd will understand. At the same time it is still different and unique, as this is probably the first time they will hear chassidic niggunim performed in such a setting.
Have shluchim charged for this?
Absolutely. This is a concert, so a charge is something people would expect. Shluchim have also had success finding sponsors for this event, most probably due to its cultural flavor.
Why do you recommend that I use local musicians?
We have found that it is quite easy to find local musicians. Besides sometimes offering an opportunity to involve someone in your community, this saves all the expense of travel costs.
Can you help me find musicians?
Absolutely.
